What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way — the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not the port. The Port of Southampton is run by Associated British Ports, which operates the five cruise terminals and has nothing to do with this site. We are not the museums, the cathedrals or English Heritage either; each of those sets and sells its own admission.

We are not a tour operator and we are not a ticketing authority. We do not run any of these trips, employ any of these drivers, or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. The order the tours appear in comes from their own published ratings and review volumes, and the badges are arithmetic: the best seller is the one with the most reviews, the best value is the cheapest per person, and the top-rated one has a rating of 4.9 or better with the largest number of reviews behind it.

Where the same operator sells the same trip on both platforms, both listings appear, because they are separately bookable at different prices. Neither half of such a pair takes a featured slot. Where a fare buys the vehicle rather than the seat, the card says so instead of implying a per-person price.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were read from their own listings on 9 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Prices are shown in US dollars because that is the currency the platforms quoted; everything on the ground in Southampton is priced in pounds.

Admission to Stonehenge is sold by English Heritage as a timed, tiered ticket and no page here prints a figure for it, because there is no single adult price to print. Where we do quote an admission — SeaCity Museum, Tudor House, Salisbury Cathedral — it came from that venue's own booking page and is dated.
